White Fillings

• White fillings are carefully shade matched to appear natural, so it isn’t noticeable when you smile. The material applied has the look of enamel and dentin, blending invisibly with the remaining surrounding tooth structure.
• After the white filling is sculpted and moulded into the tooth’s shape, it is hardened with a high intensity light. This forms a very hard substance and will withstand the forces in your mouth when you bite, over a long period of time.
• White fillings are used as an alternative to amalgam (metal) fillings, which are aesthetically poor and may contain mercury, which could be toxic.
• Teeth need less preparation for a white filling than for amalgam silver fillings and results are natural and long lasting.
